The practice courses of this program are held at the Elderly Care Practice Laboratory and Gaziantep Nursing Home Directorate.
Elderly care technicians can be defined as human resources who, using their elderly care training and knowledge and techniques, help elderly people and those in need of care hold on to life, relieve them of anxiety about the future, use their free time productively, and make it a habit to be sensitive and protective of their own bodies and living spaces.
Purpose: To train intermediate manpower who can provide "Elderly Care" services.

Physical Attributes: To train intermediate workforce who can provide the care needed by elderly individuals, prepare and provide the necessary environments, contribute to the development of health standards and quality of life of elderly individuals, implement and develop elderly care services, produce solutions, have teamwork and a sense of responsibility, and provide quality "Elderly Care" services in geriatric centers, rehabilitation centers, nursing homes and at home in public and private institutions.
Internship Practices and Duration During Education at the College: 20 days of compulsory practice is carried out during the summer semester of the 1st and 2nd year of the Elderly Care program, and 14 weeks of hospital practice, 5 days a week, is carried out during the spring semester of the 2nd year.
Program Graduates' Titles and Fields of Work: Graduates of this program earn the title of Health Technician. Graduates can work in elderly care units in public and private institutions.
Job Opportunities: Provided that they pass the KPSS exam and are appointed, they can work in public institutions and organizations in this sector, as well as in private health institutions and organizations that provide elderly care services, as Health Technicians.
The Future of the Profession: After successfully completing our vocational school, our students can then take the Vertical Transfer Exam administered by the Student Selection and Placement Center and, if successful, earn the right to pursue undergraduate studies. With advancements in technology, healthcare institutions are increasingly choosing university graduates as they need qualified personnel, and this is expected to become even more important in the future.
